Our body has an energy field, and we process the world through it. The more connected we feel energetically, the healthier we feel. Energy becomes trapped in our muscles, joints, spine, fascia, and organs when we are stressed. With the alignment principles of Anusara Hatha Yoga, we positively influence the movement of energy, resulting in feeling better physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. By changing the body's vibration frequency, we change the way cells develop. By changing the energy in the field around the body, we move closer to a sense of well-being.

Anusara Yoga, or "Yoga of the Heart," founded by John Friend in the 1990s, provides an extremely effective way to align the body with what is called "the optimal blueprint." This imprint is an energetic imprint of the physical body and represents the most ideal alignment of the body where all parts are integrated, open, and functioning optimally. There is a specific sequence of steps by which the body is aligned with this imprint, referred to as the Universal Principles of Alignment™. As the word Universal suggests, these principles apply to all people, of all ages, abilities, and stages of life. Anusara Yoga practitioners, as they apply the principles of alignment, gain exceptional body awareness and at the same time practice yoga in a safe environment, as these principles of alignment contribute to achieving proper musculoskeletal structure (orthosoma).
However, Anusara Yoga is not limited to the technical positioning of the body in various poses (asanas). At the heart of yoga there must be a source of inspiration, a feeling, a "Bhavana" so that the practice of yoga becomes a force that transforms your life according to your highest intention.
Thus, Anusara Yoga is distinguished by its deep sensitivity to the balance between our spiritual and physical aspects. Great attention is paid to how we cultivate an attitude that guides our alignment and action, the 3 As of Anusara.
In short, the 3 As are a reflection of how the power (Shakti) of Supreme Consciousness (Shiva) flows energetically within us on a physical, mental, and spiritual level.
Every practice of Anusara Hatha Yoga inspires us to seek, with heartfelt intentions, the highest good in ourselves and in others. We learn to embrace and celebrate the diversity of life, the qualities of our hearts, and to seek a connection with something greater than ourselves.
